The band got together last night with our brand new guitar player, Matthew Mercado, who's been filling in for Nick while he's focused on school and promotions career-wise (damn responsibility). We sounded amazing and we're ready, finally, for the big show tomorrow with Residue and some of our favorite local bands.
The day before is always full of a weird anxiety. When you play for as long as we have, it's not nervousness that comes over anyone before the show, but it's more this anticipation to get on the stage and do what we've worked hard to do. You want to hope that everything goes the way you practices, or, if it doesn't, you've done what you need to in order to recover from a mistake. Live music is fickle like that.
We hope to have several drinks with y'all, though we'll have to be somewhat mindful since we're playing last and closing out the night. But you know damn well that after we're off that stage, it's party time. So get your rock pants on, call you friends, alert the masses, ring the victory bells, because tomorrow is the biggest damn rockshow in Lubbock and you'd be crazy to miss it.
See you tomorrow for Residue Rocks Jake's at Jake's Backroom.
